eurekaremedial massage

  • Massage at eureka health is part of a team approach to healthcare. Our massage therapists will listen to you and work with you to determine a plan to help reach your goals, whether they be to reduce pain and stiffness, improve movement or improve your general wellbeing. Our therapists have special interests in managing and preventing endurance athlete injuries and fatigue, general muscle aches and pains, pregnancy massage, stress and anxiety management and promoting optimal health and wellbeing.

There are a range of different massage techniques used here and firmness or pressure can vary according to your preference so let us know if you have one.

All our therapists have a provider number so you can claim through HICAPS if you have private insurance on the day of your appointment.

  • Remedial Massage Therapy is a hands-on treatment aimed at assisting the body in rediscovering its natural state of balance. It does this through encouraging optimal health of muscles, the movement of joints, the release of tension in the connective tissues (fascia), the promotion of blood and lymph flow and promoting deep relaxation for your body and mind.
This is an excellent therapy that complements osteopathy, physiotherapy and exercise physiology to provide a comprehensive maintenance and prevention program to keep you fit, healthy and happy.

  • We will always begin with a brief chat about why you have come for a massage, what and where your symptoms are, other health practitioners you may regularly see or have seen in the past, your daily habits and any notable injuries or chronic conditions in your medical history.

You should expect to remove some or most of your clothing except your underwear. Your privacy will always be respected and you will be draped, kept warm and comfortable throughout so you can relax as much as possible.

We offer two different remedial massage appointment types: 1 hour and 30 minutes. We recommend if you have more than one area of your body causing problems to book the 1 hour appointment first enabling enough time to assess and treat all areas.

We also offer pregnancy massage with remedial massage therapist Jesika! You can book any of our massages here.

FAQs

If your problem is a little more complicated, you have multiple areas of the body you want treated, or you just want to destress, then the 60 minute appointment is perfect.

  • Australian remedial massage therapists must complete at a minimum an 18 month Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy. Our remedial massage therapist is a member of the Association of Massage Therapists.

We are able to refer you to medical and other allied health providers if necessary.

  • Typically you will be asked to remove some items of clothing, sometimes down to your underwear. The room is always warm and regions of your body not being treated at the time will always be appropriately draped for your comfort.

  • People with 'extras' cover as part of their private health insurance are able to claim a portion of their treatment costs. We have the HICAPS facility so people with private health are able to claim on the spot and only pay the remaining gap. This fee varies with each insurance provider.
