Ellen O’Connell

Pilates instructor

Ellen discovered a love for Pilates after participating in classes for several years; she loved the way it left her feeling. Not only did she feel stronger and more balanced, but the niggles she had in her lower back and hips improved. Ellen completed a few weekend courses on the basics of Pilates and began teaching Mat Pilates, then did further education to be able to teach Reformer Pilates. Realising how much she loved the work and teaching others she decided to return to study and completed her Diploma in Pilates Instruction through National Pilates Instruction in Melbourne in 2014.

Ellen has continued teaching since and loves seeing the change in her clients progression from the day they started Pilates. Seeing them leave after a class feeling taller, stronger and improving their range of movement gives her a great deal of satisfaction. Ellen believes that Pilates really does help us maintain a healthy balanced body, where you get a full body workout moving through a full range of motion.

Outside of working and practising Pilates, Ellen likes to run a few times a week to help with her fitness. She is a mum of four (now adult kids), and loves spending time with family and friends, supporting her boys with their footy and visiting her girls on the Sunshine Coast when she can.
